Life against me

Current Weight : 14st 13lbs
Weight loss : 2.5lbs
Total loss : 3 lbs

I inhale my food. This isn't new to me, I've never been much of a chewer. Nearly choked on a piece of beef once. However, the other day, eating spag bol, I realised I was barely chewing at all and in fact I was virtually swallowing it whole! Now I don't recommend eating like this - can't be good for your digestion but is it making me fat? I'm guessing it indicates greed and I'm not trying to deny I'm greedy but is there another correlation? It must be in my genes as my mum eats fast as does at least one of my sisters and they're not fat. To be fair my sister is slim - so slim she makes skinny look fat. It's obviously more complicated. Do you eat fast? Anyway I'll start to masticate more (blimey that sounds so rude -please read it carefully!). Give my brain more time to tell me to stop eating lol.

The world seems to be against me this week. I was sorting my Christmas gifts (yes I know it's Easter) and I discovered my hidden (ha ha so well hidden I'd lost it) chocolate box! All my Christmas bars in a big Molten Brown box. Oh dear. Now I need/want/crave all this chocolate! So far I'm just having a little every night but the big blow out is coming! And then a colleague at work (another one of the super skinnies) buys chocolate, eats half and hands the rest to me. Like I'm a chocolate monster (stop agreeing!!). I quickly stuff it in my mouth before he changes his mind, muttering 'moo vrh nhrsmbh goo it me' which translates to (when speaking without a mouth full of chocolate) 'you really shouldn't give it to me'. The other day it was Mini eggs. I ate so many I bought him a new bag the next day... Then ate most of them too.

I had a day off on Monday so took the opportunity to go to Newcastle for a long weekend. Why does seeing family & friends always involve food? I spent a good deal of time at Costa (other coffee shops are available) and as you know I don't do flat whites (unless it's a man) and most of my coffee comes in the form of hot chocolate. And then the food...biscuits/cake/brownie with the coffee, Indian takeaway with my family. Stealing chocolate from my mum's goody cupboard and blaming my niece (It's ok mum, I didn't really do this - tee hee). And then the 5 hour drive - crisps, sweets & pop!

Thank goodness this is a new week!

Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.
