Clutter-free home, clutter-free mind
Current weight : 15st
Weight loss this week: 2lb
Total weight loss : 2lb
OK, so its a start.
I thought maybe if that I de-cluttered by life my head would be clutter-free also, to allow more room for all these changes. But where to start? My whole house could do with a good seeing to. I decided that I should tackle my handbag first. The thing is so heavy with crap that when I fling it on the passenger seat of my car the dash board pings and tells me it needs to wear a seat belt! I found so much rubbish - receipts from eons ago, broken pens, some ear plugs, some cotton buds, sweets (which I ate), some shortbread wrapped in a napkin (which I ate - and then spat out), shopping lists...you name it. My purse (I'm not saying to find a purse in a handbag is unusual you understand) but my purse is heavy. And no not heavy with cash (I wish). I have 41 cards in my purse, and that's only the ones I carry on a daily basis 'just in case I need it'. I have 13 coffee cards!! Some plastic like Costa and some cardboard ones for stamps like The National Trust - because you just never know when you might find yourself in a castle buying a mochachino.
So I managed to sort my handbag but so far I've not progressed further. I so want to do my wardrobe but not sure how. The clothes don't fit (pretty much everything in my wardrobe is too small (nothing is too big, surprise surprise)). All my clothes that fit me seem to live on the floor - either dirty and waiting to be washed, or clean waiting to go away (but wardrobe too full with clothes that don't fit). I don't want to get rid of my clothes (the too small ones, not the ones that fit cos that would be me naked) It's a power struggle. The clothes are sure I'll never wear them again, and I'm determined that I will - even just for 30 seconds before binning them. Ah maybe I should lock them all away, and only free them as I reach each dress size. Liberate them only to discard (sounds like a bad Mills & Boon).
If the sign of a cluttered desk is a cluttered mind, what is the sign of an empty one?
