Week one, tick
Current weight: 15st 2lbs
Weight loss zilch
This isn't as bad as it looks as at start of week (after weekend away) I was up, so I've lost that extra since Monday!
Oh my goodness, this working for a living is keeping me pretty busy! This is good because my priority for constant eating is way down low. I don't think of food, I'm not snacking as much, and I like it. So far (yeah yeah I know it's only a week, but...) I'm having my breakfast (healthy), my lunch (healthy), my supper (healthy) and maybe something later watching TV (not so healthy - but could be worse). Seems so easy - therefore I'm sure it won't last.
So? What you thinking about 10 potions of fruit & veg a week then? The new government guidlines. Sounds a lot, but then somedays 5 potions were a struggle - not that many on a pizza. I think its doable, of course you're buggered if you don't like F & V. Luckily I do. So lets see how doable it is. Think I might get the shits but hey, I won't get scurvy! :-)
So I got a call from the BP nurse. She has consulted with my GP regarding my 24 hour monitoring. So (as we all know) it is high. Right up there near too high - but (drum roll please) it has not gone past too high. So no drugs for me, but guess what? Go on, have a shot in the dark! Bet you can't guess what she said, ha ha. And I quote 'I need to make some lifestyle changes' - which is very coded nurse/medical speak for; lose weight, drink less, exercise more. And then she had the audacity to ask me if I would like some leaflets sent to me about these said changes!!! I bloody wrote the leaflets!
This week I learnt that working for a living, especially if you enjoy it, is pretty cool. I know I'm wearing my 'just started a new job, and everything is new and shiny' tinted glasses, but still.
Life is like underwear, a change is good.
