As you can see from the picture I managed to detach my verticals, redo the maths and it all went back up. I've left the dried glue and the odd hole for Mark to fill and sand - he'll do a much better job than me! Almost finished when I ran out of wood strips. Ah, said Mark, we planned only 4 up not 5! So I also need Mark to cut me more strips to finish it. I only have the circular saw which won't do it. So close, but so far. But my curtain fabric is out of stock so there's no hurry. (Sorry about all the decorating talk - no more until it's all finished lol).
Did I tell you I bought new work trousers? Size 12! So chuffed. Though it made me think, I usually just grab size 14s, like my M&S holiday travel pants. They fit me, very roomy and don't fall down, but would the size 12 have fitted better? I don't know, I didn't try. I have a couple of pieces that I'm wondering this about. My natural instinct is to try the 14 but I think I should maybe try 12 then go up the next size if I need to. It's just a thought!
I'm eating too much sugar. Part of me is delighted that I can eat sweets and chocolate and not put on weight but the sensible part (yes, I do have a sensible part) is worried about diabetes! I know I could swap chocolate for say a bread stick but when you want chocolate you want chocolate! A bread stick (unless it's dipped in Nutella) doesn't cut it! I could have hummus with crudités (yum) but that's a snack. A handful of jelly tots is not a snack it's simple a sugar hit. A tiny treat that grows into 20 jelly tots after a few hours! And don't get me started on the wine! My sister (a diabetic nurse) will be straight on the phone with her lecture, oops sorry, I mean tips! (Only kidding Jane). I suspect that once all my Christmas goodies have gone things will settle down. I sure hope so because it's making me so so sleepy. I'm tired all the time, and need to go to bed super early, but then not sleeping properly and I'm sure it's down to sugar! Evil but tastes so nice!
The holiday makers return tomorrow night. Ellie with her arm in a sling (nothing broken, just a sprain) ready to start her brand new job on Monday!
Until next week then. Have fun everyone - the snow drops are here and the daffodils are not far behind.
As long as the relationship lives in the heart, true friends will never part.
